Gritting
When winter weather hits, we work with our snow wardens and farmers to keep the roads moving and council services up and running.
Gritting
When the temperatures start to fall Highways work 24/7 to monitor the roads and their 23 gritters are sent out day and night when conditions dictate.
Although public finances are stretched, they are committed to gritting key routes - that's around 1,300 miles of roads - to help keep the county moving.
Problems can be reported via https://www.leicestershire.gov.uk/winter-weather/gritting-and-travel-this-winter and you can also check out their interactive gritting map showing their first priority and second priority road gritting routes.
